Who is Janine?

Yes, the photo shows me with one of my dogs, Daisy.

I have five dogs, and it is rare to get a photo of me with all of them at once.

Sharing a bit about myself helps give you a sense of my vibe, flair, and joie de vivre.

Where did I spend my childhood?

I was born in London and grew up in Australia, enjoying a wonderful outdoor life with the freedom typical of a child in the sixties. My two sisters were born there as well. We moved to England in the early seventies. I moved to Reading in the mid-eighties, married, and had two beautiful children.

Why am I always cheerful?

My upbringing has stayed with me as I grew older; my inner child always expressed happiness and positivity. That is my solid foundation.

Where did I get my confidence to stand in front of people and speak?

I have always dreamt of being a Shakespearean actress, although I never reached the professional stage. I participated in a theatre group and loved participating in amateur dramatics, pantomimes, and Old Time Music Hall shows.

Have I always enjoyed creative writing?

Creative writing has always been a passion of mine; I frequently write short stories, poems, plays, or songs. My mother shared this love for writing and had some of her work published in Australian magazines.

Who has benefited from my love of writing?

My creative work has served as content for the websites I've published for myself, charities, and small businesses. Social media captivated me, allowing me to use my talents to grow the profiles of my charity work and the small businesses for which I was a virtual assistant.

I wrote a few commercial blogs for corporate clients, including Yellow Pages, Laithwaites Wines, Park Lane Orthodontics, and DEBRA.

How have I learned the skills to be a celebrant?

Over the years, I have worn many hats: I’ve been a Nordic Walking instructor, an ultramarathon runner (even completing one dressed in a 6-foot duck suit), a qualified accountant, a teaching assistant for special needs children, and a therapeutic assistant for young people in a children’s home.

Why did I choose to be a celebrant?

At my core, I am a woman of many talents, but above all, I embody kindness and a desire to help others. After attending several family weddings in recent years, I realised that weddings are my happy place. I have a genuine sense of celebration, and I want to share my experience and love of creative writing to help you create the wedding and ceremony of your dreams.
