Refund Policy
This policy outlines the terms and conditions regarding cancellations and refunds for services provided by Janine Lewis, a UK-based wedding and funeral celebrant.
By booking my services, you agree to the following policy.
1. Nature of Services Provided
The services I provide involve:
Includes up to 1 1/2 hours of couples & individual meetings
Includes up to 2 hours writing of the bespoke ceremony
Includes up to 1 hour travelling on the day
Includes up to 1 hour of location prepping
Includes up to 2 hours for my set-up and ceremony
A printed copy of your service
Refunds for these personalised services are subject to specific conditions outlined below.
2. Booking Fees for Weddings and Vow Renewals
When booking a wedding ceremony or vow renewal, clients pay a non-refundable booking fee to secure the date. This booking fee reflects the celebrant's commitment to reserve the date exclusively for your event.
- The booking fee will only be refunded if I can rebook the same date with another client.
- If I cannot secure another booking for the same date, the booking fee remains non-refundable.
This policy ensures fairness and reasonableness. I commit to one ceremony per day and decline other enquiries for the reserved date.
3. Full Refund Eligibility
For all wedding ceremonies you are eligible for a full refund of any payments made (excluding the booking fee unless the day is rebooked) only if the cancellation occurs before the initial meeting and/or planning session.
4. Partial Refunds
- If you cancel my services after the initial meeting but before the ceremony and the date is rebooked, a refund will reflect the proportionate amount of work completed at the time of cancellation. This includes:
- Time spent on meetings, research, and communication.
- Preparation of the personalised ceremony.
- The refund will exclude the non-refundable booking fee (where applicable) and any additional expenses already incurred, such as travel costs or materials.
5. No Refund Eligibility
No refunds will be provided under the following circumstances:
- If the cancellation is made within 7 days of the scheduled ceremony, significant time and resources will already be dedicated to the preparation.
- After the ceremony has been delivered.
The booking fee is non-refundable for weddings, vow renewals, or baby naming ceremonies if the reserved date cannot be rebooked with another client.
6. Exceptional Circumstances
While every effort will be made to accommodate changes or rescheduling requests, refunds under exceptional circumstances will be considered case-by-case at the celebrant's sole discretion. An administration fee may apply in such cases.
7. How to request a refund
To request a refund, please email me at janinelewis.360@gmail.com. Include your name, the service date, and the reason for the refund request. I will review your request and respond within 14 days.
8. Legal Rights
This policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
